Question by Jim G: What does vitamin C do for the digestion?
I realize its an acid(ascorbic acid), but what exactly does it do in the stomach if you take a large dose? I realize a large enough dose will cause diarrhea, but below this dose, what does vitamin C do? Does it improve digestion? Does it block anything? Thanks.

Vitamin C doesn’t have a function in the intestines.
It acts as a cofactor for several important enzymic reactions – particularly ones involved in collagen biosynthesis.
